Q&A:
1. Does it hurt getting the cosmetic bonding done?
No! The procedure is completely painless and there’s no filing or drilling to your actual teeth
2. How long does it take?
I was in the clinic for around 2 hours but this included talking beforehand and afterwards! I’d say the actual process took around an hour and a half
3. How long do they last?
The bonds last up to 5 years and I read online that the better you look after them the better they’ll last
4. What happens after the 5 years?
This was something I asked Sia after having them done and he said you can have them re-done, have them changed into veneers etc. There’s lots of options afterwards!
5. Do you brush as normal afterwards?
You brush them as you would you normal teeth afterwards and flossing is good for keeping them in good condition.
6. Can you eat afterwards?
You have to wait two hours after the procedure to eat to avoid damaging or staining the bonds. You can drink clear liquids (I was straight on the Gin after as there’s an Ivy not far from the clinic) and this was fine. I avoided strong coloured food for the first few days and anything coloured I drink through a straw now!
7. Can you whiten them?
You can’t actually white the bonds but I asked Sia about home whitening kits as I like to use these and he said you can use them and they’ll clean the teeth but they won’t make them any whiter than they were originally.
8. How much do they cost?
To have composite bonds on the top set of teeth Sia charges £2500 for the top teeth which is a good price. He also offers finance plans for up to 3 years which is just £66 a month.
9. Do they feel weird/different?
They actually don’t feel any different in my mouth compared to my normal teeth. They feel exactly the same as before and I could talk/drink/eat the same as normal straight after!
